Lou Xu: I repeatedly lost consciousness at the roadside because of drug abuse
(Han nationality, 34 years old, born in Xinzhou Town, Zheng’an County, Guizhou Province, Lou Xu started taking drugs since 1999, and not only spent all the savings in his home, but also borrowed thousands yuan of external debt. His wife divorced him. He had no job and his body was as thin as “reed”. In 2009, Lou Xu was ordered to receive compulsory drug treatment in the community for three years. During that period, the government and the related departments helped him build a “Sunshine Cultivation Farm”. In June 2012, Lou Xu was named by the Provincial Narcotics Control Committee as an Excellent Employee of the “Sunshine Enterprises”. Today, Lou Xu has thoroughly gotten rid of drug addiction. He won the second place in the long-distance race themed “care for life and eradicate drugs” organized by Zheng’an County on June 26, 2012.)
Thankful words
In the past, I had lost consciousness for many times beside the road, the toilet, and the bushes because of drug abuse. Some kind-hearted people found me and notified my family. I was sent to the hospital. I lost my job and my wife because of drugs. But my parents and my elder bother did not give me up. The local government and the departments did not discriminate against me. They made every effort to help me and gave me the courage and strength to start a new life. Today, I have built livestock pens of over 400 square meters, contracted barren hills of more than 1,000 mu and arable land of more than 100 mu, planted high-quality livestock grass of more than 100 mu, planted peppers of 270 mu, raise 37 heads of cattle, 146 goats, and became a local largest cultivation farmer with existing assets of more than one million yuan. I become physically robust and have a promising career. My family and friends are very proud of me. I personally feel extremely happy, too. I want to use my experience to educate and influence more people, to let more drug addicts make a clear break with drugs and start a new life.
