Zhang Chuanyou: I have kept in mind what the people’s police said to me the moment I walked out of the drug treatment center

(45-year-old, born in Fengyi Town, Zheng’an County, Zhang Chuanyou had a poor family when he was young, and went to Guangdong Province for part-time jobs. Because of fraternal loyalty, he was tempted by wrong friends and got addicted to drugs. At the end of 1997 he was arrested by the public security department due to drug abuse and was sent for compulsory treatment for six months. After leaving the center, he actively sought progress under the care and support of the government and the leaders, and joined the Community Party in 2001. He was elected as the director of Loutai Village Committee in 2007, named an Advance Individual of the County in the fight against snow disaster in the same year, honored by the County Party Committee as an outstanding party member in 2009 and in 2010, named by Zunyi Municipal Party Committee and the People’s Government of Zunyi as an Advanced Individual in the draught relief in 2010, and named by the Provincial Narcotics Control Commission as an Excellent Employee of “Sunshine Enterprises” in June 2012.)

Since the moment I walked out of the drug treatment center, I have kept in mind what the people’s police’s earnest advice: Further build a strong psychological defense line after going out, do not be tainted by the drugs again, do not bring adverse effect to the society and pressure to family, and become an upright person. After I went home, the leaders at all levels did not discriminate against me because I used to be a drug addict, but helped and were concerned about me. I felt in shock in the depths of the soul and became determined to start a new life and reciprocate to the society. Today, I will cherish the many honors I have been given and reciprocate the society and serve the masses with work.
