1992
March 20 Guizhou Drug Control Commission issued the Emergency Notice on Carrying out Drug Control Work throughout Guizhou.

June 24 Guizhou Drug Control Commission organized to hold a meeting on drug crime crackdown, public arrest, public sentence, and drug destruction in Guiyang.

1993
January Guizhou Public Security Department set up a drug enforcement squad. The public security authorities at all localities, prefectures, and cities successively set up drug control agencies, and the public security authorities at the county level established drug control divisions (teams).

April The Public Security Bureau of Xingyi destroyed a big drug production and trafficking gang consisting of more than 20 criminals, and uncovered the first drug manufacturing case in the province.

1994
June 11 The Drug Control Division of the Public Security Bureau of Xingyi uncovered a transnational armed drug trafficking case, captured 3 suspects, 35.9 kg of heroin, a running shotgun, 43 bullets, 1 jeep, and drug money of RMB22,000.

November The Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of Guizhou passed and issued the Provisions on Drug Abuse Prohibition in Guizhou.

1995
March Guizhou Public Security Department set up a drug control office, headed by Zhao Xiang.
July 24 Guizhou provincial government forwarded the Notice on Asking for Instructions of Carrying out Investigation and Registration among Drug Addicts by Guizhou Drug Control Commission and Guizhou Public Security Department.

November 12 The Drug Control Office of Guizhou Public Security Department, Drug Control Division of Qianxinan Prefectural Public Security Bureau, and the Drug Control Division of Xingyi Municipal Public Security Bureau jointly uncovered a transnational armed drug trafficking case in Kunming, captured 3.33 kg of heroin, 1 revolver, drug money of RMB160,000, and 1 jeep, and arrested 6 suspects.
