Satellite images show progress of Xiongan New Area over the past five years (9)

A sports center in Qidong District of Xiong'an covers about 35 hectares and has a construction area of 185,124 square meters. It will mainly consist of a stadium , an indoor stadium and an indoor swimming pool, all of which will be built for national and international sports events. The sports center is expected to be complete in December 2023. The left part of the combo photo, which was taken by a satellite, shows the sports center in Xiong'an New Area in 2018, while the right part shows the sports center in July 2022.

Aiming to relieve Beijing of functions non-essential to its role as the national capital, Xiongan New Area in north China's Hebei Province has witnessed huge development and recorded a total investment of more than 430 billion yuan (about $61.75 billion) since its establishment in 2017.
