Satellite images show progress of Xiongan New Area over the past five years (12)

A commercial project is located in Qidong District of Xiong'an. Covering an area of some 165,000 square meters, the first phase of the project includes commercial residential buildings, a kindergarten, among others, and is expected to be delivered in the middle of December 2022. The left part of the combo photo, which was taken by a satellite, shows the project in Xiong'an New Area in May 2021, while the right part shows it in June 2022.

Aiming to relieve Beijing of functions non-essential to its role as the national capital, Xiongan New Area in north China's Hebei Province has witnessed huge development and recorded a total investment of more than 430 billion yuan (about $61.75 billion) since its establishment in 2017.
