A highly cooperative consensus has been reached among Guizhou’s chief party and government leadership, competent authorities including political-legal agencies, public security bureaus and civil administration departments, for offering policy support and action guarantees for a balanced advancement of the “Sunshine Project” by means of provincial government orders, supporting preferential tax policies, subsistence allowance system, increase in funding and offering methadone free of charge. All these endow the “Sunshine Project” a long-term advantage in comparison with some local yet specific pilots for drug addiction treatment and rehabilitation. Obvious scale and integrated achievements are bound to be gained though continued efforts. In addition to governmental leading and propelling, private enterprises, psychological professionals, caring mamas and other civil powers are also mobilized and get involved in relevant activities to provide assistance to the treatment and rehabilitation work at community levels.
