Such crisis becomes more complicated while getting interrelated with drug issues. Tiny minority of public and successful figures including stars, bosses and officials use drugs because they consider “it is a fashion” or “may bring cheerful spirit”; some people do so for pursuing sexual pleasure and euphoria; while primary and secondary school students are induced to take drugs for curiosity and for fun.

Settlement of problems arising from such crisis may be long and arduous, requiring tireless efforts. The media should continue to concern about and analyze the drug-related issues through such perspectives, and to advocate right public wealth views, underline public figures' social responsibility, guide the correct channels for people to pursue pleasure and happiness, with corresponding means targeted different groups. Media and local party and government administrations’ thinking and governing drug abuse from the level of spiritual beliefs crisis, will make the logical start point higher, the vision longer, and the policies and measures more workable.

(ii) The media should promote the establishment of a proper “drug control performance concept” from multi aspects

From the practical operation of China’s administrative governance, some local party and government administrations may turn to hide or mislead relevant problems without long-term vision considering the time limit in the office taken by major leaderships at fixed place during an individual term, in addition to an abnormal value orientation in measuring the social development mainly through GDP data.
