An Argentine journalist covering the 20th National Congress of the CPC has spoken highly of its significance, saying China’s development is changing the shape of the world.

Gustavo Ng is a researcher with the University of Congress and an editor at DangDai Magazine of Argentina. He has Chinese blood. Having visited China six times, he has witnessed the great changes that have taken place in the country.

“I believe this is a very transcendent congress, which will go very far in time,” he noted, adding that the congress is a milestone not only for China but also for the whole world.

In his opinion, the CPC National Congress is important for China because it draws a new blueprint for the country as the CPC embarks on its second century. In the first century, China made great achievements. Lifting the whole of society out of poverty was an admirable accomplishment. It was a main goal of socialism, and a goal for the good of the people.

The CPC National Congress is also important for the whole world, Ng said. Today, the world is facing major problems and turmoil. Ng believes that China’s foreign policy is for the good of all. It does not have any hegemonic intention, it is not for domination, nor is it imperialistic, but for the good of all.

He said that President Xi Jinping reiterated in his report to the 20th CPC National Congress all the goals and initiatives China has been proposing for the world in the last 10 years. Those proposals are for a democratic world, for a peaceful world, and for common and fair development. China is really committed to this.

Over the last decade, Ng has seen the accelerated development of China in all fields including economy, society and technology. He is confident that China’s development will benefit Argentina. “We have strong links with China. China has invested heavily in Argentina. As China grows, our country will get more benefits,” he explained.
