According to the survey, 66 percent of male respondents do not regard them as necessary conditions, but 52 percent of female respondents consider houses to be a necessary condition for marriage. Wang attributed this to young women's lack of the sense of security. "Most women attach too much importance to houses, cars, and other material conditions, which is one of the main reasons for the persistently high divorce rate.
