JINAN, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- The death toll has climbed to five in a road accident that occurred in east China's Shandong province Friday morning, local authorities said.
A pile-up involving 12 vehicles happened at 8:45 a.m. on a snow-coated section of an expressway linking the provincial capital of Jinan to south China's city of Guangzhou.
Five people have been confirmed dead thus far and more than 60 injured people are receiving medical treatment.
Traffic on the expressway has resumed.
