The Winter Solstice is one of the oldest solar terms in the traditional Chinese calendar, occurring between December 21 and 23 each year. In the north, people enjoy warm dumplings to chase away the cold, while in the south, sweet rice balls symbolize family reunion and togetherness. From this day forward, daylight gradually lengthens and sunlight returns—signaling the start of a new cycle of life and energy!
