Paper-cut artists from Chengdu of Sichuan in southwestern China have recently created vivid paper-cut works, so as to praise and cheer for the heroes fighting against epidemic.
The protagonists of these paper-cut works include medical staff cutting their hair and hurrying to central China’s Wuhan, the center of the epidemic outbreak, as well as workers fighting at the communities.
In the battle against the epidemic, as artists could not work together, they were encouraged to finish the works at home, said Wang Shibi, initiator of the paper-cut theme creation, adding that “we can't go to the frontline, but would like to express our support towards the war through paper cuttings.”
She introduced that over 20 artists have participated in this event.
Wang Shumei, one of the participants of the event, shared her experience of creation: "Even if I stay at home, I hope to do my part to pass the positive energy of fighting the epidemic through paper cutting."
"I was touched to see the medical staff and community workers fighting on the frontlines, and I hope to use my paper-cutting skills to pay tribute to these most beautiful pioneers," said Zhao Jiarong, another participant.
