Wuhan, Feb.26 - (People's Daily Online)-- Supermarket in Wuhan has enough reserves of commodities, food, and medical supplies, and the prices have returned to normal, according to People's Daily Online reporter on Sunday, January 26, 2020.
Recently, many supermarkets in Wuhan, the center of the coronavirus, caused public concern due to the sharp rise in vegetable prices. Our reporter visited a large warehouse supermarket in Hongshan District, Wuhan, confirming that all consumers were selecting goods and checking out at the cashiers in good order.
"When I was on the way, I was a little bit worried whether there would be a snap-up in the supermarket," said the reporter, "but when I arrived, I found enough reserves of meat, vegetables, eggs, milk, even masks, and medical supplies."
The local government announced that motor vehicles, including private cars, are banned in downtown areas of Wuhan to further reduce population mobility in a concerted effort to curb the spread of the virus since this Saturday at midnight. Furthermore, two days ago, all public transportation in the city was temporarily put on hold until further notice.
