An armed police corps in China recently selected 12 soldiers with basic musical knowledge for a month-long training program in bugle playing.
Containing courses such as the history of military music and bugle playing, the program aims to help the soldier students learn how to play 21 kinds of military music used in daily routines military action and ceremonies.
The soldier students have to play the different kinds of bugle at 11 specific times of the day, from waking up in the morning to bedtime. Such intensive training has caused many to suffer swollen mouths and sore cheeks, yet they remain strict with themselves and practice intensively to become well-qualified bugle players.
