Changsha, the capital city of south China’s Hunan province, has gradually opened 24-hour self-service libraries at its metro transfer stations over recent years in order to promote reading and enable the general public to enjoy more convenient services.
24-hour self-service libraries are made up of self-service equipment integrating such functions as library card handling, information inquiry, borrowing books and returning books. As there is no time limit for services, they have been well received by the locals.
At present, 24-hour self-service libraries have been set up at 7 subway stations in Changsha. (Xinhua Photo)
