The “That’s China Bookshelf” project was launched in Ankara, the capital city of Turkey, on October 13, to provide a new platform for Turkish people to understand Chinese culture.

There were dozens of books on the "That’s China" bookshelf”, with books including topics such as political, economic as well as cultural works and more. Most of them were published by the China Wuzhou Media Publishing House. Local sinologists translated “Xi Jinping Tells Stories”, and other well-known works by Chinese writers such as Mo Yan into the Turkish language. What's more, the quarterly edition of “Silk Roads” (Turkish version), jointly launched by Turkey's Red Cat Publishing House and China Radio International, is now appearing on the Turkish bookstore shelves.

The project has been well received by Turkish readers since it arrived in Istanbul, Turkey's largest city, last march. The president of the Red Cat publishing house said that "That’s China Bookshelf" project was a great success in Istanbul, and Red Cat Publishing House was willing to expand cooperation with Chinese counterparts. The establishment of the "That’s China bookshelf" project in Ankara allows for more mutual understanding and communication between the two peoples since Ankara is the political and cultural center of Turkey.

According to the introduction, Red Cat Publishing House is Turkey's largest book publisher, with 13 major bookstores across the country.
