Young people from HK arrive in Chengdu to participate in “Gather beneath the flag” activity

Nearly 700 young people from Hong Kong arrived in Chengdu on August 21. They participated in "Gather beneath the flag" activity with the young people from Sichuan province. To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China

"Sichuan is beautiful, the New Year Painting is wonderful, our motherland is formidable." The activity included tours to Chengdu, Mianyang, Deyang,Meishan, Guang'an and etc. Hong Kong young people witnessed the recent developments of the country by various forms of activities. The group visited the Dujiangyan Panda Park and took photos with pandas.

They also witnessed the naming ceremony of a pair of newborn twin pandas. The twins were named "Sihai" and "Yijia".

Combining the two names creates a Chinese idiom, meaning "we are a family", symbolizing the continuation of the friendship between Sichuan and Hong Kong. "At this place, we are able to experience the modern technology and the quick change of our motherland. I think we are a family. Every place has its own culture. The relationship between Sichuan province and China is the same as that between Hong Kong and China."

The young people from Hong Kong and Sichuan Province declaimed poem in dialect and made choir performance.
