About 60 children wearing Han-style clothing recently attended a "first writing ceremony", a traditional Chinese education activity for first-year students, at Deqing Confucius Temple in Zhaoqing, south China's Guangdong Province, on June 2, 2019.
Deqing Confucius Temple is regarded as one of the oldest, largest, and most distinctive Confucius temples in southern China. For many years, the writing ceremony held at the temple has been a popular activity to help students gain an interest in traditional Chinese culture.
