The opening ceremony.
A Chinese ink painting exhibition featuring 108 pieces produced by artist Lu Yixin opened on April 23 in Beijing's Cultural Palace of Nationalities.
Each painting embodies a harmonious beauty via vivid depictions of grapes, a fruit that was introduced to China along the ancient Silk Road by imperial envoy Zhang Qian in the Han Dynasty more than 2,000 years ago.
Lu is currently a member of the Chinese Writers Association (CWA), and head of a calligraphy and painting institute based in southeast China’s Fujian province.
The exhibition is sponsored by the China International Culture Communication Center, China Artists Association and Fujian Artists Association.
