There are 59 students in five grades at Heihumiao Primary School. 38-year-old Zhang Yugun is the principal of this school. After graduating from university, Zhang gave up his job opportunities in the city, choosing instead to move to a rural area to work, where he has now been for 17 years. He has taught more than 500 students, and 16 of them have gone on to university.
