Changsha, Nov. 25 (Xinhuanet) -- 2018 Shaoshan Redrun International Marathon was held on Sunday in Shaoshan City in central China's Hunan Province.
About 7,000 runners from over 10 countries including China, Russia, Britain, Algeria, Kenya took part in this event.
The event includes a half marathon (21.09 kilometers) and a mini marathon (5 kilometers).
Chinese runner Lin Xin clocked at 01:08:42.58 to win the men's race while China's Zhao Na won the women's race, clocking 01:17:37 in the half marathon.
Several famous tourist attractions appear along the route.
According to a local official, the event is expected to boost Shaoshan's development as a world famous tourist destination by combining the marathon and "red tourism".
Shaoshan City is a renowned red tourist destination in China's Hunan.
