On August 8, 2018, the Chinese squad defeated military teams from Russia and Uzbekistan, winning the “Safe Route” relay race for military engineers in the International Army Games 2018, Chinanews.com reported.
The games were held in Korla, Bayingol Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture of northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region the first time the competition had ever been held in China.

The “Safe Route” contest for military engineers consisted of individual games and relay races. The participants were required to complete tasks including mine clearance, the assembly of a mechanized bridge and removing of anti-tank hedgehogs in a 2km closed circular track.
The end of the relay race marked the completion of all games in the “Safe Route” competition.
