The 4th Tianfu Old Town International Arts Festival

From August to November, the 4th Tianfu Old Town International Arts Festival is held in Huanglongxi, an old town in Chengdu’s Shuangliu District, under the theme of "Tianfu old towns radiate beauty to the world. See the dreamscape of the water towns and enjoy the music of Huanglongxi."

The festival will showcase original songs and music. It aims to excavate the cultural layer of Huanglongxi as an old town, and to make the old town known worldwide as "Huanglongxi— World’s Leading Millennium Pier." The original songs and music include the folk-music suite "Jincheng String and Wind Instruments: Dreamscape Water Town," the musicals "Tianfu Water Town: Huanglongxi," the theme songs "Splendid Pearl" and "New Song of the Old Town," and an exhibition of traditional and modern Chinese paintings of the town.

In a next step, Shuangliu District will start to focus on two features: history and water, to create a new layout called the Ten-Li (mile) River with Eight Bays, so that each traveler can experience the history of this millennium pier and the leisure lifestyle of Chengdu’s Liujiang Old Town.
