Visitors savour innovations at 9th China flower expo (2)

The exposition includes one main flower zone and five supporting exhibition zones. Located in the Yinchuan Flower Expo Garden, the main exhibition zone gathers the indoor flower exhibitions and flower garden art boutiques from flower associations from 31 provinces. Almost 1,000 flower species, tropical and subtropical plants, are on exhibition. Egyptian history, culture and art are also on display. Ningxia Hall showcases the microcosm landform and garden flower landscape of “An oasis in the hinterland” as the region is fondly referred to.

Among the five supporting zones, Ningxia Senmiao Tourist Resort focuses on displaying the industrial chain of featured ornamental and Goji berry varieties in northwest China. Ningxia Horticultural Expo Garden emphasizes household gardening and modern agriculture. Aiyi Lavender Ecological Garden demonstrates various scenic flowers and plants like purple flower sea, colourful flower valley, crab apple garden and sunflower garden. The Ningxia International Flower Harbour has the biggest fresh-cut flower market in northwest China, while the Yinchuan Huaxigu Ecological Agriculture Leisure Tourism Garden demonstrates all kinds of flowers.

The city of Yinchuan has over 2,000 hectares of floral planting area. With annual production of nearly 80 million fresh-cut flowers, the Ningxia Hui capital has become the second largest carnation production base in China. Employing nearly 5,000 workers, Yinchuan has developed the regional and scaled layout for fresh-cut, potted and parterre flowers, including ornamental seedlings. It has become an important flower and plant production base in northwest China.
