A villager has found rarely seen freshwater jellyfish when swimming in a pond in the town of Suxi in Zhejiang province, July 18. Freshwater jellyfish, also known as peach blossom jellyfish because of their resemblance to the flower, are regarded as the "giant panda in water," as the jellyfish live only in pollution-free fresh water. Having existed on the earth for hundreds of millions or even billions of years, the jellyfish are primitive invertebrates. They are veritable "living fossils" with high research and ornamental values.
