On March 23, officers from the Sanya Municipal Public Security Bureau were officially equipped with anti-drone rifles to combat illegal unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The anti-drone rifles are able to interfere with UAVs using electromagnetic waves, forcing the devices to return to their takeoff points without causing them any harm. In addition, the officers have been authorized to shoot down UAVs that are at risk of creating major security risks. In these cases, owners will be punished according to the law.
