Residents in Chengdu, Sichuan province participated in the traditional ritual of "burning the fire dragon" to celebrate the upcoming Longtaitou Festival on Feb. 26. The festival, normally held on the second day of the second month of the Chinese calendar, is literally known as “dragon raising its head.” Chinese people believe that during the festival, the deity in charge of rain brings showers to the world.
