20,000 people feast in Guangdong

A feast for 20,000 was hosted in Dongguan, Guangdong province on Feb. 15, the 19th day of the first lunar month. The feast is part of a local annual campaign to promote intangible cultural heritage. The dinner party tradition dates back to when ancient garrison troops reclaimed wasteland to grow grains. It has evolved into an important event for villagers to socialize and make friendly contacts.
