
On Jan. 23, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang paid a visit to a poverty-stricken village in Zhaotong, Yunan province. After witnessing the people's poor living conditions, Li made a promise to villagers that they would be relocated to a more livable place. He also stressed the importance of tailoring measures to local conditions, joint efforts and innovative relocation projects for the purpose of poverty alleviation. With Chinese New Year around the corner, Li also brought some New Year gifts to the residents.
