Guangzhou deputy police chief commits suicide

BEIJING, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- Deputy chief of the Guangzhou public security bureau Qi Xiaolin was found dead of apparent suicide by hanging around 6 p.m. Tuesday, the bureau confirmed Wednesday.

The bureau said Qi, 55, suffered from illness and showed signs of depression prior to his death.
