Philandering deputy dismissed

(Global Times)

08:53, December 05, 2012

A deputy to the local People's Congress in Shuangcheng, Heilongjiang Province was dismissed and removed from his position as general manager of an industrial company following public accusations by a woman who said she had been coerced into a sexual relationship that lasted more than a decade.

The Shuangcheng government announced on its verified Sina Weibo Monday that Sun Dejiang had been fired for violating regulations in handling State-owned assets.

Investigators with the local discipline inspection commission have not heard from Wang Dechun, a former television host, whose online accusations against Sun made headlines.

The Beijing Times was able to track down Wang, 42, and reported that she is in hiding in an unnamed city in southern China. She told the paper that she was pleased that Sun had been dismissed and she would soon return to Heilongjiang to tell her story to investigators.

Wang first posted her accusations and a photo of her press card on her Sina Weibo on November 23.
