A high school vice principal in Yueqing, Zhejiang Province has been fired, detained and is expected to face charges of sexually assaulting an underage student in her dormitory, causing other students to come forward with accusations of their own, a local official told the Global Times.
Chen Jian'an, 42, vice principal of No.1 Wengyang High School, was detained on November 22, a day after the local public security bureau received a complaint from the victim's relatives, an official surnamed Lin of the bureau's publicity department, told the Global Times.
After the case became public, other students and graduates of the school posted online accusations against Chen saying he had molested and even raped other girls at the school, reported the China News Service (CNS) on Tuesday
Lin said the parents of the girl were too embarrassed to report the assault when they first learned of it but other relatives finally came forward with the accusation.
"We can't reveal details as the victim is a minor. Her relatives are very angry," Lin said.
When asked by the Global Times if there had been previous reports of assaults by Chen, Lin said he was not aware of any.
