The brake is not the gas

(Global Times)

09:29, December 04, 2012

A local driver hit three passersby, including her own father, in front of a residential community in Yangpu district Monday afternoon.

The car hurtled forward after the driver mistook the accelerator for the brake. The car crashed first into a passing bicycle rider, then the driver's father, followed by an elderly woman.

The driver's father suffered fractures in both of his legs, the most serious injuries of the three victims. The others suffered multiple bruises.

The crash remains under investigation.
