BISHKEK, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is to open its 11th prime ministers' meeting in Bishkek, capital of Kyrgyzstan, on Dec. 4-5.
The meeting is expected to lay a solid foundation for future development of the SCO by implementing results of the SCO Beijing Summit held in June.
Since its establishment 11 years ago, the SCO has grown into a constructive force that plays a major role in geo-politics in the Eurasian region.
The organization, which groups China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, has been developing in the areas of security, economy and culture.
It has seen fruitful results in enhancing mutual trust, cooperation and common prosperity among member states as well as maintaining regional peace and stability.
POLITICAL MUTUAL TRUST ENHANCED
Political mutual trust between the SCO members has been strengthening continuously. Under the guidance of the "Shanghai Spirit," the SCO stressed the member states, big or small, should promote cooperation in the principle of consultation-based consensus.
Over the past 11 years, the "Shanghai Spirit," a spirit of mutual trust, mutual benefits, equal rights, consultations, respect for multiculturalism and endeavor to common development, has become a role model for different countries by demonstrating how they can deepen good-neighborly ties and cooperation, promote common development and prosperity, safeguard regional peace and stability, and carry out dialogues among diversified cultures and civilizations.
