Xiao Liang, a female college student who works temporarily as a volunteer teacher in Fenghuang county, Hunan province, recently posted several micro-blog entries disclosing poor implementation of China's National Healthy Lunch Program in Suode Primary School in Laershan town. She said that the program is aimed at offering each child a three-yuan lunch each day free of charge, but the students in Suode Primary School only get a carton of milk and a small piece of bread, which are priced at 1.6 yuan and 0.3 yuan respectively. Her micro-blogs have attracted extensive attention from netizens who are beginning to worry about implementation of the healthy lunch program.
