Hu said he was pleased to see farmers and urban residents in the city living a much better life compared with that of 20 years ago.
"The change in Bijie should be attributed to the common endeavor by officials and people of all ethnic groups," Hu said. "It also proves that we will create a more happy and prosperous life for people if we stick to the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics and scientific development."
President Hu showed his appreciation to the work of Guizhou provincial Party committee and government. Hu said he believed that all causes of the province will be further developed under the leadership of the CPC's Central Committee with Xi Jinping as the general secretary.
