On Jan. 15, a couple in wedding attire drew people’s attention on a D56 high-speed train from Urumqi, capital of northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, to Zhangye, northwest China’s Gansu Province.
The couple were en route to their wedding, which was scheduled to be held in Zhangye on the same day. According to traditional Chinese custom, a groom should meet his bride at her parents’ house, before escorting her to the wedding.
