On one of the most important days of his life, a man from central China’s Henan province arrived on a mountain bike to pick up his intended for their wedding, Chinanews reported on Thursday.
Accompanied by other members of his cycling club, Wang Xiaochang rode more than 10 kilometers to the bride’s home on March 14. Balloons and banners reading “Just Married” decorated the bikes. The 68-member bicycle fleet drew a great deal of attention from passersby.
As a cycling enthusiast, Wang said he always wanted to integrate this interest into his wedding. His bride and family also support the creative wedding idea.
Local residents applauded the unorthodox wedding procession, saying it was not only unique, it also demonstrated the traditional virtue of frugality and the modern value of environmental protection.
