Editor's note: A total of 29 domestically developed new types of ships and boats have been put into service in People's Liberation Army Navy since 2013. China usually names destroyers and frigates after the name of cities, names landing ships after the name of mountains, names supply ships after the name of lakes and names escort boats after the name of islands.
Different types of destroyers
Xiangtan ship
The destroyer Xiangtan with the hull number of 531 is to the People's Liberation Army Navy on Feb. 24, 2016. The warship belongs to the new generation of Chinese-made guided missile destroyers.
Changchun ship
The "Changchun" destroyer was officially commissioned to the People's Liberation Army Navy on Jan. 31, 2013.
Zhengzhou ship
The destroyer Zhengzhou was commissioned to the East China Sea Fleet of the People's Liberation Army Navy on Dec. 26, 2013. The warship belongs to the new generation of Chinese-made guided missile destroyers.
Kunming ship
The warship "Kunming" with hull number 172, a new Type 052D guided missile destroyer, was commissioned to the People's Liberation Army Navy on March 21, 2014.
Jinan ship
The Jinan guided-missile destroyer was commissioned to the People's Liberation Army Navy on Dec. 22, 2014. The warship belongs to the new generation of Chinese-made guided missile destroyers.
Xi'an ship
The Xi'an guided-missile destroyer was commissioned to the People's Liberation Army Navy on Feb. 9, 2015. The warship belongs to the new generation of Chinese-made guided missile destroyers.
Changsha ship
The Changsha guided-missile destroyer, with the hull number of 173, was commissioned to the People's Liberation Army Navy on Aug. 12, 2015. The warship belongs to the new generation of Chinese-made guided missile destroyers. The ship has strong air defense and maritime defense capability.
Hefei ship
The Hefei guided-missile destroyer was commissioned to the People's Liberation Army Navy on Dec. 13, 2015. The warship belongs to the new generation of Chinese-made guided missile destroyers.
