Herdspeople in Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, are driving their livestock to autumn pastures.
On a grassland in Heshuo county, Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, some 100,000 livestock making their seasonal journey form a line that stretches for several kilometers, creating a spectacular sight.
In Xinjiang, herdspeople move to different pastures in different seasons according to the growth cycle of forage grass. The rotational grazing system ensures the growth of livestock while allowing grasslands to recover, thus realizing the sustainable development of the grassland ecosystem.
