An Australian girl’s winter trip in Dongbei-Northeastern Chinese cuisine

What first comes to mind when we talk about Dongbei? A snowy world of ice and wind? The soft, white frost on the trees? These are all things people in Dongbei are familiar with. But for Amy Lyons, who lives in Sydney, where beaches and sunshine abound, it is a totally new world of ice and snow. From her Dongbei diary, let’s experience winter life in China’s northeastern cities.

During her ten days in Dongbei, Amy tried a variety of Northeastern Chinese dishes, including Dalapi, Chuan, Chunbing, and Guobaorou.
