The latest generation of China-developed subway train just finished a two-month test run on metro Line 8 in Guangzhou, southern China’s Guangdong province, marking the first ever trial on an operating subway route.
The futuristic subway train, whose body is made of carbon fiber, is 13 percent lighter than typical models, and can save 15 percent more energy. It adopts the latest soundproof technology and materials, and can run as fast as 140 kilometers per hour.
The subway train can be adjusted to include 2 to 12 cars, so that it can reduce operating costs and improve efficiency.

What’s more, train windows can turn into screens where videos, news and TV programs will be shown with just one click.
An employee of the Guangzhou Metro noted that scientific innovation would lead its development, and the company has been working hard to promote the “smart subway”, in an attempt to offer safer, more convenient and more intelligent services.
