More than 10 million people have booked 5G services from the three major carriers as of 9:25 PM on Wednesday, with 5G packages likely to be released at the end of this month.
According to the 5G reservation page of the three major operators, China Mobile has more than 5.9 million 5G reservation users, China Unicom has more than 2.0 million and China Telecom has more than 2.1 million.
The three major operators have launched preferential booking activities separately, such as having discount for purchasing 5G mobile phones, having package discounts for reservation (the lowest discount is 30 percent off), and having priority to buy exclusive numbers.
According to the introduction, the discount is based on the age of the network. After receiving the 5G package, users can have a discount price for six months (based on the national 5G package price of each operator).
Wang xiaochu, Chairman of China Unicom previously disclosed that until Nov. 22, the lowest price of a 5G package is 190 yuan per month. However, 5G packages will become cheaper in the future. Many experts predicted that in the future, the price of 5G traffic could be as low as dozens of cents per unit for 1GB.
One netizen said, "I heard that Unicom 5G package has come out, and a 199 yuan could only enjoy 40GB of data usage, which really scared me. If 5G packages are so expensive, I will not use them.”
There are also many users who are waiting to see. They would like to see the price after few months and then decide whether to use 5G packages or not.
