The President of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs has called for more contact with the U.S. Congress to promote the constant development of China-U.S. relations, during an event celebrating the 40th anniversary of China-U.S. diplomatic relations.

“As we commemorate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations, we review the history and look to the future, precisely for the purpose of further expanding the friendly exchanges in all areas between our two countries and adding to the friendship between our two people," said Wang Chao, as he recalled the development of Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs over the past 40 years.

Robert Forden, Charge and Deputy Chief of Mission at the American Embassy to China, acknowledged the hard work made by the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs, and highlighted the importance of the relationship between China and United States from many aspects.

Wang Chao presented an award of cooperation to five partner organizations to express sincere appreciation for their help in promoting friendly exchanges between the institute and U.S. Congress as well as their contribution to the friendship of Chinese and American people.
