On April 15, 2019, the new "People's Daily Online" airplane made its debut flight from Shanghai to Beijing at 12:45 pm, marking a pivotal moment for the strategic cooperation between People.cn Co., Ltd and China Eastern Airlines Co., Ltd.
The plane is a two-aisle wide-body Airbus A33E and will fly the route between Shanghai and Beijing. Onboard, passengers can browse the news provided by People’s Daily Online through various means such as scanning QR codes with their mobile phones.
This is not the first time that People's Daily Online and China Eastern Airlines have cooperated. As early as 2012, People's Daily Online signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with China Eastern Airlines, agreeing that both sides would give full play to their respective advantages and carry out in-depth cooperation in news and information services and market development both domestically and overseas.
Later, in July of the same year, one of China Eastern Airlines’ planes with the sponsored title “People's Daily Online” completed its maiden flight.
