
Ten people were rescued on April 9 after being trapped by an avalanche in a mountainous area of Changji, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
The hikers had been trapped since the avalanche hit on April 6. After the alarm was raised, search and rescue teams leaped into action, and after 20 long hours of searching, the hikers were rescued safely.
