“Qiandao Lake” in Pu’er City

The junction of Simao District and Lancang County in Pu'er City is the core hydropower project of the lower reaches of the Lancang River. As a large-scale hydropower station in Yunnan Province, it is the backbone project for realizing the optimal allocation of national resources and the national networking goal. It is also the basic project for implementing the strategy of “West-East Power Transmission” and “External Transmission of Power in Yunnan”.

Whenever the water level rises to the highest, mountains of varied sizes in the reservoir area will form Qiandao Lake.
