2018 "Chinese Tea, Pu'er Taste" tea tasting party held

On the afternoon of Dec. 26, 2018, a tea tasting party themed "Pu'er Taste, Chinese Tea" was held in Pu'er Tea College of West Yunnan University of Applied Technology. Wei Xing, Secretary of CPC Pu'er Municipal Committee, and Yuan Xiping, President and vice party secretary of West Yunnan University of Applied Technology, attended the party and delivered speeches.

We Xing congratulated the holding of the tasting party. He said that tea is the root, the soul, as well as the history and memory of Pu'er. It is the industry with the most distinct Pu'er characteristics. Based on the advantages and endowments of "Godsent Pu'er, Tea Source of the World", Pu'er should enhance its sense of responsibility and self-confidence in developing tea industry and tea culture, and form a good atmosphere for leading cadres to take the lead in learning and understanding tea, and for the whole society to love tea and invigorate tea.

Wei Xing shared three wishes to the leaders and guests present. First, to promote the standardization of Pu'er tea, to consolidate the technical foundation of the construction of the tea industry system, to grasp the leading power and voice of standards, to enhance the value of the brand and to occupy the commanding point of market competition; second, to build the Pu'er Tea College and give it support so that it will become stronger and bigger, to train high-level applied technical talents and to promote the transformation of scientific research results, to provide human resource and technological strength for industrial development continually; third, to make every effort to promote the application of Jingmaishan ancient tea forest's inclusion in the world cultural heritage, promote Pu'er tea culture, tell the story of Pu'er tea, polish the golden sign of "Pu'er tea" and strengthen the "soft power" and "hard power" of Pu'er.

Yuan Xiping thanked the CPC Pu'er Municipal Committee and the Municipal Government for their concern and support to the West Yunnan University of Applied Technology and the Pu'er Tea College. He hoped that Pu'er Tea College, based on the current situation and needs of the development of Pu'er tea industry, would conscientiously implement the industrial development plan of the CPC Pu'er Municipal Committee and the Municipal Government, train a large number of applied technical talents, upgrade the overall level of Pu'er tea industry and constantly expand the college's influence, to make contributions to the economic and social development of Pu'er and even western Yunnan.

Luo Yongbin, Secretary-General of CPC Pu'er Municipal Committee, Wang Hongbin, Head of Publicity Department of CPC Pu'er Municipal Committee, Hu Jianrong, Vice Mayor of Pu'er, Yang Lihong and Du Yimin, members of Party Committee and Vice-President of West Yunnan Applied Technology University, participated in the meeting.
