Tianjin’s commercial drone strives to become leading enterprise in UAV industry

Efy Technology, in China's northern port city of Tianjin, has vowed to become the world’s leading enterprise in the UAV industry by increasing investment and personnel for research development of commercial drones.

Michael Li, an official of Efy Technology, told journalists that the company focuses on the development and manufacture of UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) flight control systems, providing a complete control system solution for the application of intelligent UAVs.

He added that adhering to the principle of “Chinese should do well in China' business,” Efy will invest funds and personnel to research and develop commercial drones, and strive to become a leading enterprise in the industry.

Li said that Efy had recently developed the MQ 300 drone. It can fly for four hours and can transport up to 80 kg in weight. The maximum speed of the MQ 300 drone is 120 kilometers per hour, and it can fly to the height of 3,000 meters. It provides safe and reliable services in the commercial sector, covering a range of areas such as agriculture and plant protection, low-altitude logistics, police monitoring, forest fire prevention, geological exploration, aerial surveying and mapping. He added that 400 drones were recently used to map the entire city of Tianjin.

Meanwhile, Deputy Director of the District Cyberspace Administration of Binhai New Area, Sun Bin, said that significant reform measures had created a Binhai Effect that has attracted worldwide attention. People's livelihood and welfare have continuously improved, and the Binhai spirit of "open innovation and leading the future" has been formed, and a road for the rise of Binhai has been built on the saline-alkali waste coast.

While addressing foreign media journalists during a tour with the theme of ‘Intelligent Binhai - Livable Binhai New Area’ in China's northern port city of Tianjin, Sun said that the Tianjin Academy for Intelligent Recognition Technologies, Efy Technology Company Ltd and Tianjin Sublue Ocean Technology Company are synonymous with intelligent manufacturing in Binhai New Area and the innovative power of Binhai.

Tianjin Academy for Intelligent Recognition focuses on intelligent computing, Efy Technology company develops and manufactures UAV control systems, while Tianjin Sublue Ocean Technology Company is engaged in the research and development of a full range of underwater robots.

Sun said that initially, the single industrial base of Motorola and Master Kong were known as "one machine" and "one bowl of noodles," before they became international industry leaders. He went on to say that the implementation of the ‘Binhai Kunpeng Plan’ will attract talent from all over the world and form a siphon effect of gathering high-caliber talents and the application of the 50 Binhai Measures will further create a good business environment.

The foreign media delegation visited Tianjin Academy for Intelligent Recognition Technologies, Efy Technology, Tianjin Sublue Ocean Science and Technology company, Binhai culture center, Novozymes company and Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area Warner Community to witness the boom in Tianjin’s intelligent manufacturing sector.
