BEIJING, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Saturday met with Botswana's President Mokgweetsi Masisi who is on a state visit to China and will attend the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
Li said Botswana is an important country in southern Africa and China is ready to enhance cooperation with Botswana in various areas. Competent Chinese companies are encouraged to go to Botswana to conduct cooperation based on market rules. He also urged the two sides to broaden cooperation in trade, investment and tourism.
Masisi said Botswana welcomes more Chinese investments to help build the country into a regional connectivity hub. Botswana is willing to work with China to ensure the success of the FOCAC.
